Member Spotlight - July 2020
Edison Bond, Jr., MPH, MDiv, DMin, CPXP
What made you get into healthcare?
As a teenager I knew that I wanted to be a healthcare professional. I wanted to help reduce the pain and suffering for my family and the community as a whole. I remember accompanying my family to visit one of my uncles in the hospital who was dying of cancer. I witnessed the anguish that my family had to endure and realized in that moment that I wanted to make a difference and become a medical doctor. My biggest challenge to my dream was organic chemistry. After speaking with my college advisor, I realized that I would be able to make a difference, as a hospital administrator.
Fun fact:
Dr. Bond is married to Portia Hawkins-Bond and is the father of two sons. He enjoys the simple “beach life” and spending time with his family.
