What impact are you looking to have on the healthcare community and how do you plan to make this impact?
I am looking to have an impact in the board rooms, where decisions are made. A big reason that there are disparities in healthcare is because there is a lack of representation from those affected communities. My plan is to show the healthcare community the value of having a diverse leadership. We can no longer afford to have tone deaf leadership and expect to make progress. It’s time for change and I want to be a part of it.
What made you get into healthcare?
My father is a retired FDNY EMS Lieutenant and ever since I can remember, EMS has been a part of my life. I used to look at his textbooks as a small child. After high school, I enrolled in EMT class and from there my passion for healthcare continued to grow. I became an EMT for a job while I was in college, I had no idea it would become my career.
What do you like to do for fun?
One of my favorite things to do for fun is cooking. I love the process of creating a meal that brings joy. I am the primary cook in my home. My wife is very lucky!
