RAVEN BrEWINGTON

is a student member of NAHSE NYR Chapter and an early careerist in the healthcare industry. She recently transitioned from being a Senior Patient Coordinator in the OBGYN Department at Weill Cornell to an Application Support Specialist to explore her interest in healthcare information systems.

Raven is a Life Member of Girl Scouts and is currently a Troop leader in Elmont, NY. She serves  as an Association Delegate and National Delegate for GSUSA. She will also be representing the GSUSA at the 2019 Juliette Low Leadership Seminar in India this year. Raven is also the Student Liaison for the NYR Chapter to assist the leadership in promoting the vision, missions and values of NAHSE by reaching out to the local colleges and universities to facilitate awareness of our local chapter to the student body. Raven was awarded the 2018 Florence Gaynor Scholarship at the 34th annual national conference. This award recognizes outstanding achievements among female graduate students who are striving to become future leaders in Healthcare Management and NAHSE.

Because of her willingness to volunteer in the community, the choice to work in healthcare was easy. After acquiring her Bachelors of Science at Temple University she began her journey to work in healthcare at Weill Cornell Medicine. Raven is interested in community and population health issues, preventative care, research behind healthcare trends and availability of social services programs for patients. She is currently enrolled in a dual degree program at Hofstra University to acquire her Master of Health Administration and Master of Public Health. She will be inducted into Upsilon Phi Delta Honor Society in May for outstanding academic achievement in health care management and policy.

Raven hopes as a millennial and future leader in healthcare that she can fuse her education knowledge and career experience to give patients and providers the tools through access to technology to live healthier lives and improve their health outcomes, and connect the community with its respective healthcare organizations by building relationships between the two.
